Honda Motor Co Ltd has evolved an air bag for compact scooters. The company said it is producing the air bag in collaboration with Autoliv Incorporation, a supplier of security and safety systems.
The air bag carrier protects the head of a motorbike driver when, for example, the motor cycle crashes into the part of a car. Honda should commercialize it at an early date with the aim of minimizing the number of casualties from motorcycle accidents.
The deployment mechanism of the air bag is equivalent to that of car air bag system.
